Boat Bill Of Sale - 3 Reasons Why You Should Use A Boat Bill of Sale Form

By Darren D King

It is important to utilize a boat bill of sale form when buying or selling a used boat. A bill of sale form provides the seller with proof that the new owner is now legally responsible for the boat. For the buyer, a bill of sale form is proof of purchase that the boat is theirs.

When utilizing a boat bill of sale form, it is suggested that it contains the following;

1. the name and residential address of the purchaser.

2. the name and residential address of the seller.

3. a thorough description of the vessel, including make, model and hull identification number.

4. the sale price.

5. the time and date of sale.

6. the signatures of both the buyer and the seller.

Many states in the US will need you to provide a boat bill of sale form before you can register the boat in your name. It is probable that each state may have a slightly different process by which the registration occurs, but the basic information listed above is common to all states and required everywhere.

A boat bill of sale form when correctly filled out provides protection and security for both the buyer and the seller. The seller is protected as they now have proof as to when the boat was legally transferred. All monies owed or fines accrued on the vessel after this time are now the responsibility of the new owner. Similarly the purchaser is protected as they have a record of the date at which they bought the boat and anything that happened before that date can be shown to be the result of the previous owners actions.

All buyers and sellers of second-hand boats are advised to make use of a boat bill of sale form for their own protection and peace of mind.

Tips On sea doo for sale

Apart from the obvious hazards of collisions and mechanical breakdowns common to all vehicles, personal watercraft feature the unique hazard of orifice injuries. Such injuries are the logical result of the unusually close proximity of PWC riders to the output end of the pump jet, as well as the fact that personal watercraft are usually not enclosed. A rider who falls (or is ejected) off the back can land directly in the path of the PWC's high-pressure jet of water. Unless a rider is appropriately dressed in garments made out of a strong, thick substance like neoprene (as is commonly found in wetsuits), the jet will easily penetrate any orifice it reaches. The consequences include permanent disability or death.For example, in 2006, the California Court of Appeal (First District) upheld a $3.7 million Napa County jury verdict against Polaris Industries arising out of one such incident (which had devastating effects on the victim's lower abdomen).

Jet Ski is the brand name of personal watercraft (PWC) manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.. The name, however, has become a genericized trademark for any type of personal watercraft. Jet Ski (or JetSki, often shortened to "Ski"[1]) can also specifically refer to versions of PWCs with pivoting handlepoles known as "stand-ups".

Sailing Crew For Thailand To Eastern Med: End Feb 08

Thu, 3 Jan 2008 12:44:39 +0200
Sailing Crew - First mate wanted for approximately 8 week sailing trip from Phuket to Cyprus. Must have blue water sailing experience and speak fluent English. I'm looking for a really solid individual who I can trust enough to be able to sleep when I'm not on watch! Non smoker, no drugs, no booze at sea. Prefer somebody who likes fishing and diving. Absolutely no contribution. I pay all travel costs to get to Thailand and back home from the Med. Would consider paying a modest salary to the right person.
